Thanksgiving

Since Tater Tot was supposed to arrive on or near November 26, the fam decided to make their way up to New Jersey for Thanksgiving.  We didn't make any definitive plans since we didn't know if we'd have an inside baby, be in the hospital, or have an outside baby already.  My Aunt and Uncle were hosting Thanksgiving dinner at their house, so we met up with Courtney and Jeff and Mom and Dad in Short Hills on Thursday afternoon for a delicious Thanksgiving meal with Grandmother, Cousins, Aunt and Uncle and friends.

We had a fantastic and relaxing weekend just the 6 of us with Black Friday shopping, football game watching, eating, drinking, present opening, holiday decorating, and lots of laughs.

If only Tater Tot had decided to arrive on time...... still waiting for you little stubborn one!

Bump Progression

I didn't do a very good job of documenting little Tater Tot's growth in my belly, but I'm scrounging together something nonetheless.

Weekend Woes and a Bump

We love our new house.  We love being in it, we love making it our home, we love coming home to it and so on and so on.

We're also learning about the joys of home ownership.  Some "challenges" from the past few days that we are addressing and addressed over the weekend.

1.  The leaky sink that the previous owner said he fixed after inspection - still leaking ever so slightly.  Need to get a plumber in here.

2.  Our new dishwasher (which is AMAZING by the way) is not draining 100% at the end of the cycle and is leaving a puddle at the bottom.  Need to call Bosch helpline tonight since they are not open on the weekends.

3.  Electric starter on new grill is refusing to work. Thankfully, we can still light it just fine, and we made a delicious lunch on Sunday despite the hiccup, but still annoying and needs further investigation.

4.  Will probably need a new rubber seal around the glass storm door on the front door.  It came loose last week, and I popped it back in, but it's looking a little worse for wear.

5.  Bookcase that I waited a month to be delivered came last week with damaged wood.  I had to refuse delivery, and reordered another one from a different company.  It arrives tommorrow - I sure would like to finish unpacking our boxes and get our books out of the garage!

6.  Spent nothing short of 8 HOURS and a wad of cash on the phone with Dell support yesterday to address a major virus on our computer.  It seems to be working well now, but I fear a reformatting of our hard drive may be in order soon if any rogue websites or pop-ups reoccur again today. Nothing like sharing your quality time with your husband on a Sunday with a few random dudes in India. 

It should be noted, that as I countdown the hours until our little girl decides it's time to come out, the computer is my sole companion now that work has picked up for Jason.  When the computer is not working, I have major meltdowns.  So, proper operation is essential to my sanity these days. 

Bad things happen in 3's and that's 6 things so TWO rounds of 3.  NO MORE.

I leave you with a bump pic due to popular request.  This is 39 weeks and 2 days large (and no makeup so a little rough)

(If the belly looks heavy, it's because IT IS.  I think maybe, just maybe, she's dropped a little.  A girl can hope right?)

I really hope I won't be posting anything past a 40 week picture, but my Dr. won't induce until I hit 41 weeks, so it's wait and see!

My Bag is Packed

Only 11 days until Tater Tot is due!  We are SO ready to meet her, and I am SO done being pregnant.

The nursery is nearly finished.  We're going to hang something above the changing table and crib, but they haven't arrived yet and I figured it was time to start posting pics of the rooms in our house now that they're in a much better state.  Let's start with the nursery.

Homecoming

This weekend, we drove down to UMD for our last football game of the season.  Andy and Caroline rode down with us, and we met Lauren, Charlie and Brad there.  We had a great tailgate and then watched our Terps give Wake Forest a beat down.

On our way into the game, I got a picture of the brick that Jason and I bought that lies in the courtyard of the Alumni Center.

I also got to meet up with Megan at halftime.  Two future Terps perhaps??

Evil Squirrel

We have several squirrels that live in or near our yard.  In my mind, they are evil like this guy.

While I was staying with my parents as the house was being painted, Mom and I went out to an orchard/pumpkin patch and picked out some beautiful pumpkins to decorate our stoops for the fall.  I planned on carving ours before Halloween in anticipation of handing out candy to our first Trick or Treaters EVER.  Yeah for home ownership :)

The evil squirrels had other ideas.  They munch on the pumpkins for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Note the "crumbs" they leave behind - slobs!

I'm getting ready to toss those pumpkins in the garbage and replace them on Halloween with these suckers I picked up at Michael's and decorated today.  I imagine plastic and styrofoam won't be nearly as appealing for snacking.

We'll carve pumpkins next year, but I guarantee there'll be no fresh pumpkin on our front steps until the DAY before Halloween.

Hiccups and Squirms

Tater Tot felt like putting on a show for everyone today. Poor thing had the hiccups AND couldn't seem to get into a comfy spot at the same time.  Enjoy!
